In 1924, Olsson was born in Hungary into a poor family of Hassidic Jews.  She experienced several extermination camps including Auschwitz, but she and her sister managed to survive.

Since 1996, she has told her story more than 3,800 times in churches, colleges, universities, and schools.  Olsson continues to share her story across North America, educating and sensitizing future generations on the recurring themes of prejudice and racism.

Olsson has received several awards and recognition including honorary degrees, Peacemaker of the Year Award, and United Nations guest speaker.
