Annual Christmas Dinner

Every year the community comes together and enjoys a REALLY GREAT Christmas dinner. The work of the many is done by a few. It is important to give thanks to those who go out of their way to do something nice for our community. There have been many throughout our history who stepped up and helped out. We may not always agree on how or what things should be done, but we should be able to appreciate the intent and effort that has been given freely. A hope to provide something good.
This years Christmas dinner volunteers truly put forth an immense effort to make this an enjoyable evening. I personally have not seen the Village Square as festively decorated as it was this year. Poinsettia's everywhere, strings of hanging lights, a very well decorated Christmas tree...and the "icing on the cake" was the fantastic Christmas/winter miniature display provided by Hilda MacFarlane. Now speaking of cake, the dinner was excellent, but the desert was extraordinary. Lynn Sharaf provided homemade tarts, and cheese cakes. I have not tasted a better lemon meringue tart!
Sweeping, cleaning, and setting up the hall does not "stand out" or make an impression like a fine lemon tart, however this often thankless job, deserves great thanks as well.

Barb McMurray, Garfield McMurray (back row), Jane Cargill (back row), Hilda MacFarlane, Marilyn MacFarlane (back row).
One volunteer missing from the picture was Owen Patchett, who helped out by doing dishes, and prior to arrival of guests, he sanded the parking lot so to make it more accessible for our friends.
Please let me know if there were other helpers not mentioned and/or not in this photo...and if I spelled their names correctly
Thanks to all who helped and all who attended
