A: S.S. # 1, Oakley

1st building on left after crossing the Peterson bridge towards Longford.

A:Late 1940's

A:Second row, second from left, Ray Conway, Aloma Flaherty, Lois Conway, Marjorie Conway, Edna Conway, Garnet Flaherty, Marvin Tingey

Q:What was the building called and/or used for? Does it still exist?

A:It was a one room school house for the children living in Oakley twp. from Draper town line to Vankoughnet. Clear Lake had their own school called S.S. # 2, Oakley

A:I attended this school house for grades 1-8. 1947-1955

This picture was definitely not taken in 1956 as my aunt Edna Conway is in the picture and she passed away sometime in the late 40's. I believe this picture was taken at a summer program that was being offered for the children of the community.

A:Yes it still exist, and in the family of Glenna Fraser Pate, 1007 Miriam Drive formerly as SS 1 Oakley Public School
